Nick McGraw, former Loyalsit KOS Tri star (with 7 consecutive age group wins from 2001 to 2007) is riding the Pacific Coast Highway in a fundraising effort for the Pamoja Tunaweza project in Tanzania. This is a project that is organized through the Prevention through Empowerment Fund. For more on the Pamoja Tunaweza project please click on the Pamoja Tunaweza logo above.

Here is a brief description of the projects objectives:

We provide support to high risk women in the Kilimanjaro region who suffer from poverty, gender based violence and, whom may be affected by the impact of HIV/AIDS.

Our goal is to empower each client by using methods such as counseling and education for them to build their own sustainable living situations.

With your support we are able to carry out this critical work and, with your support, we will continue to reach more and more of the vulnerable. Please enjoy our website and stop back often. We are always busy and we'd like you to take this journey with us."

Nick's journey (which is entirely funded by him, all money raised through the ride will go directly to the Tunaweza project) starts on May 7 and will cover a couple of months. For updates on Nick's trip you can follow him on his 'Pedals with Purpose' blog.
